For the East Coast, South Australia and Tasmania, October through April offers the most comfortable travel temperatures. The Northern Territory and the Kimberley region are best explored April through October during the dry season. How much does it cost to hire a campervan in Australia?
Budget 2-berth campervans start from around $30 per day in low season. Motorhomes with shower and toilet start from approximately $60 per day, and 4WD campers from $90 per day. Prices vary by vehicle type, season and hire duration — longer hires and off-peak travel offer the best daily rates.
Can I hire a campervan with a foreign driver's licence?
Yes. If your licence is not written in English it must be accompanied by an accredited English translation or an International Driving Permit (IDP). An IDP is compulsory if you are driving in the Northern Territory of Australia.
Are one-way campervan rentals available in Australia?
Yes — one-way rentals are one of our most popular options. Pick up your campervan in one city and drop it off in another. A one-way relocation fee and minimum hire duration may apply depending on the route and vehicle supplier.
What is the best time of year for a campervan trip in Australia?
The East Coast, South Australia and Tasmania are most comfortable October to April. The Northern Territory and the Kimberley are best visited April to October during the dry season. Perth offers enjoyable driving conditions year-round with mild temperatures throughout.
How is the hire duration calculated?
Campervan hire in Australia is calculated in calendar days. Picking up on 1 April and returning on 5 April counts as a 5-day hire, not 4 days.
Do you offer discounts for groups renting multiple campervans?

Can I hire a campervan with child safety seats?
Yes, child safety seats are available on most 3 to 6 berth vehicles. Options include baby capsules for infants under 6 months, baby seats for toddlers aged 6 months to 3 years, and booster seats for children aged 4 to 7 years. You can also bring your own seat provided it meets Australian child restraint standards.
